Feel Good Saturday ~ Sunlight & Coffee

Some days all you need is coffee and sun, a friend, nice song on the radio while you're on your way to your favorite café, and that's it. But some days not even those things or more can help you.
It all starts with you and how you feel.
The last few days I was in a bad mood. Hormones, I guess. I was sleepy & very easily triggered, and when I'm like that I don't wanna write, I don't wanna take photos, I don't wanna go out, I don't even wanna listen to music which I usually always do. When I'm like that I isolate myself,  I just stay in my room and give myself the silence I need, because the last thing I wanna do in moments like that is interact with people.
But, today was different. I woke up feeling much better, the sun was out and I think I made the most of it, so I can say that it was a good day. A pretty good Saturday.

Feel Good Saturday ~ Talking To Myself

Snow in March and late winter is nothing new for this area, but I was really looking forward to spring.
Being in the Caribbean for 6 months, it only confirmed my love-hate relationship with hot weather. I like it for a while, but at the end of the day I just can't do it. Can't stand it. While I was there, I was looking forward to coming home and cold weather, but enough is enough. And spring is not that hot, it's the perfect weather. March means smell of spring breeze, blossoms everywhere, road trips, being outside in the nature more. Now, with the weather being like this, all I do is avoiding responsibilities and stay at home as much as I can, which is all the time. Luckily (??) right now I'm unemployed. Everything has it's perks, see. * cries on the inside *
March is almost over, so hopefully April will be better.
Anyway, staying at home lot of the time is fine, I like being in my cozy room and watch horror movies, Simpsons or Masterchef (yes, Masterchef...) 24/7, but I'm bored! I wanna go out and spend some time in nature, I need it. I plan to start hiking again, but all in good time.
I just wanna be productive with whatever it is, and I don't like doing nothing, wasting my time and being bored.
So, all I can do now is make some pancakes, write a few blog posts and finally edit my travel video for September, and I'll consider this as a successful Saturday.

Simple Living ~ Basics: Make Up Edition

One of the things that was on the top of my list for 2018 resolutions was to clean my room of all the little things that I don't use and throw away everything I don't need, once I get home. Because while I was on the ship I learned how to function with only few things - few make up product, few pieces of clothing ( you're in your uniform 90% of the time, let's be real here ). So, the past 8 months I've been using only these product that you see here, and I literally don't need anything else for my every day make up. Same goes for clothing. The first thing I did when I got home was cleaned out my closet and all the extra clothes I had, that I don't wear anymore or it was just pointless to have, I gave away to people who needed it more than me.
When I don't have a lot of stuff in my room it feels like it's easier to breathe(?!), I am more calm and I'm in better mood in general. So basically, find what you like and stick to it. And this is coming from a very, VERY curious person, who constantly wants to try something new.

Products:

  • Maybeline Fit Me Foundation
  • Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer
  • MAC Matte Lipstick - Velvet Teddy
  • L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara
  • O.P.I. Nail polish - Dulce de leche
  • AURA  Stick Highlighter - Night Life

So these are my basics for daily use. It's literally all I've been using lately and it's enough.
There is some truth to the saying less is more.

In The Woods Somewhere

Road trip season officially open!
The weather is getting better and better every day, and the adventures can start! Road trips, camping, staying in my cabin in the woods ( not the horrible horror movie ) are probably my favorite things to do. I've said many times before, I love nature and outdoors, and the smell of spring breeze, and the smell of the rivers and the lakes, and... I'm in love.
Another reason why I love road trips is - gas stations. I think I've mentioned before in some post, that I have weird obsession with gas stations, it's probably because they are very often used as a location in horror movies. And every time I go on a road trip and I see one I yell: GAS STATION and I get very excited and I annoy everyone.
So I decided to start a series on my insta stories, and probably here too - Donna's road trip stops. The plan is to take photo in front of every gas station I see. Lol.
I'm sure this idea is only interesting to me, but at the end of the day, that's all I care about. :)
OK, that's it.

What Could Have Been...?!

Okay... Today is March 3rd. And right now I was supposed to be on a flight to New York, going away for 6 months again. But, I quit. I chose something else. Deep down I feel like I made the right choice, but I can't stop these thoughts and never-ending questions. It's a big decision.
A year ago, my answer to the question - What's your biggest fear probably would have been - wrong choices. And the fact that you never know if you made the right or wrong choice until it's too late.
And the title of this post, the question What could have been is a torture...
Earlier this morning I asked one of my closest friends for some sort of consolation, and she said: "Don't look at it that way. Instead of saying to yourself  'I was supposed to be on a flight to New York', think about the bad things and think of it as 'A flight to slavery without dignity'". Lol. And she has a f*cking point. If you're confused about the slavery thing, that is for another post. I have sooooo many things to write about here. I will, little by little.

So anyway, f*ck the question What Could Have Been...?!
It's pointless.
There is absolutely no way to predict the future and what could've been if you made a different decision. So why torture yourself?
So, now... when this question comes to my mind I immediately think of something else. Or I just play my favorite sad song, cry for a little bit, and after that I feel better and I don't even think about it anymore.

And about that fear of wrong choices - f*ck that as well.
"Whatever you need to do, you do it.

There is no wrong."
